Currently advertising is limited to a website. We have only recently made our way to the first page on Google! We saw an immediate effect with customer numbers up 13% in less than 12 months. We have a growing number of 5-star reviews and nothing under 5 stars.
The average age of our customers is a social-media-savvy 34 years old (Google Analytics), with the effects of social media also extending beyond this age group. Customers have mentioned that when they put a 'call out' on social media looking for a picture framer, they have all received several responses at once saying' Milford Framers' along with a glowing recommendation. So, the business has a presence in the social media network, however it has not been tapped into. Nowadays it is the social media platforms that funnels traffic to your web page and shop.
The location of the business is on the border of one of Perth's largest industrial areas. No target marketing has been done to these potential corporate clients. When marketing to the corporate sector you are marketing to the business as well as the individuals running it. Everyone needs framing.
The showroom is being underutilized as a gallery. There is room to expand the gallery space and hold public exhibitions, which would stamp Milford Framers as being one of the leading authorities in Perth, increasing revenue through both a boost in customer numbers as well as commissions for the sale of artworks.
We have occasionally been asked by arts groups if we would run an informal picture framing workshops, covering design elements and consideration that impact on framing. This has not been done.
The current web site is an e-commerce site however the online store has never been made live. The potential to sell:
• Ready-made frames and mirrors
• Online ordering of custom framing
Reason For Selling
You are probably asking 'This all sounds great, so why haven't you done it already?!'. The answer is simply that while we have developed the business this far, my focus has shifted away from the business. I am currently studying to become a teacher. My wife is also a teacher. We have three school-age children, so it's partly a lifestyle choice to be able to spend more holidays with family.
While being a strong vibrant business, Milford Framers is ready to be taken to the next level with a fresh injection of enthusiasm.
